A major traffic switch of the eastbound Interstate 10 lanes at the Purple Heart Memorial Bridge will take place beginning at 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, through 5 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12. At that time, eastbound traffic will be moved to the new eastbound side of the bridge and the eastbound I-10 entrance ramp from downtown will be reopened. After traffic is switched, three eastbound lanes will be available for travel over the bridge.

Sunday, Sept. 13 through Thursday, Sept. 17, the inside east and westbound lanes will be closed 9pm-5am nightly as crews move concrete barrier to the new bridge.

Friday, Sept. 18, from 9pm to 5am westbound traffic will be moved to the new bridge. The final result will be two westbound lanes and three eastbound lanes on the new structure. At that time, the downtown exit from IH 10 westbound will be closed.
