Press Release

On 7/3/15 at 2:34 AM, Officers from the Orange Police Department were dispatched to 1802 Mississippi, Burkart’s Marina, in reference to a possible alligator attack. 

Upon arrival on the scene at 2:39 AM, Officers were advised that a male and female were swimming in the bayou when the 28 year old male was attacked by a large alligator. 

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene with a boat along with a Game Warden from Texas Parks and Wildlife.  The male was located at 4:29 AM, deceased, near the area in the water.  Judge Price responded to the scene and ordered an autopsy.
