ORANGE — A man from Georgia died Sunday after being ejected from his vehicle in a wreck involving a single automobile.
Luis A. Camps of Lawrenceville, Ga. died Sunday afternoon after the van he was riding in reportedly had a blowout while driving westbound on Interstate 10 between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and State Highway 62. Camps, 20, was ejected from the vehicle at approximately 5:20 p.m., Sunday, June 7 and died at the scene, according to information provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The vehicle was occupied by a family of four people, who were all from Georgia. The other three people involved in the wreck were transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, including two by medical helicopter, with non-life threatening injuries.
One report indicates the vehicle sustained a blowout, which caused the vehicle to veer off the Interstate through median and then rollover as it came across the feeder road.
The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 were closed, as was the exit ramp for State Highway 62, for a short time as debris was cleared and the wreckage removed.
