Man holds child at knife-point during attempted armed robbery

LAKE CHARLES, La. — On October 3, 2013 at 5:55 a.m., Lake Charles Police Officers, Corporal Michael Brunet and Corporal John Thacker, were dispatched to an address on O’Brien Street in reference to an attempted armed robbery that occurred near the intersection of Shattuck Street and Mill Street. Investigation revealed that a black male attempted to rob a couple by grabbing their 4 year old son and holding him at knife point while demanding money. 

The suspect was a black male in his early 20's, dark complexion, 5'6-5'7", thin build, very short fade haircut, a thin mustache and goatee, wearing a powder blue hoodie with the hood down and light blue jeans. 

Detective Kirk Farquhar was called to the scene to handle follow up investigation on this case.
