Be prepared for the Certified Food Manager examination.
Orange County Environmental Health and Code Compliance will not issue a food service permit for businesses that do not have a certified food manager by the end of the year. The change in the requirement went into effect in December of 2012, and gave one year for businesses to become compliant with the new regulation.
A two-day certification course for Certified Food Manger is available 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. July 2 and July 9 at the Orange County Convention and Expo Center, 11475 FM 1442 in Orange. The course is $125 which includes the national certification examination, course book and all course material.
Preregistration is required. The form for registration is available at http://foodsafety.tamu.edu/ and must be mailed to the address on the form before the class date. Deadline to register is June 17.
The class is hands-on food safety course will equip one with the latest in food safety principles and practices.
The certification is good for five years and certifies the individual.
