PINE FOREST — Reverend Justin Marcantel, youth minister at Pine Forest Baptist Church, believes in investing in the lives of youth.

Marcantel, 30, was officially ordained as a minister in January of this year but has been a licensed minister since February 2002.

“Many years ago, several people made some serious investments in me in order to bring me to the feet of Christ, and did whatever it took to help me grow spiritually,” Marcantel said. “Had they not made those investments, I would not be the person I am today.”

Marcantel also said that being in ministry as a whole is rewarding but watching teenagers grow spiritually and take the reins in their spiritual growth is a bonus.

“You really feel blessed,” Marcantel said.

Marcantel said the youth group helped stuff Easter eggs for the Easter egg hunt on Saturday.

“The youth group will help the younger children with the hunt,” Marcantel said. “They worked for two hours Wednesday night stuffing the candy into the eggs.”

The Children’s Ministry is sponsoring a Family Picnic and Easter Egg Hunt noon-2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at 4800 North Main, Vidor
