Man suffers from gunshot fired into apartment

ORANGE — A gunshot fired into an apartment sent a man, 31, to the Baptist Hospital  Orange at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers from the Orange Police Department met with the man at the hospital. The man was suffering from a gunshot wound to the back right shoulder blade area.

The man said, according to press release from the Orange Police Department,  that he was in a residence in the Arthur Robinson Housing when he was wounded from a gunshot fired in to the apartment.

The man was treated and releases from the hospital. The bullet was not removed.

The bullet fragments caused a slight fragment to the shoulder blade according to police reports.

The investigation is ongoing.

Gunshots were also reported at approximately 11 p.m. the same night at the 600 block of Burton.

A man told an Orange Police officer that he heard seven to eight gunshots while watching television inside his residence.

The man said he heard one bullet striking the exterior of the residence according to police reports.

The officer was able to determine where the bullet struck the exterior of the residence and followed the path of the bullet to a rug inside the bathroom.
