Richard Knox, 90, of Orange, Tx. passed away Friday, July 5, 2013.
Richard was born in Arkadelphia, Ark. on June 4, 1923 to the late Avery Knox and Mary Jane Jones.
After moving to Orange he met and married Allene on Sept. 11, 1948. He worked for DuPont SRW in Orange for many years. He was baptized as one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses on Sept. 6, 1954 and served as an elder in the local congregation.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents Avery and Mary Jane; and siblings Roosevelt, Margaret, Arthur, Jeanette and Fred.
Survivors include his wife Allene Knox; children Debra Knox Briggs and Richard Mandel Knox; sisters Senera, Annette, Geneva, Flora, Martha and Kathleen; brothers Themas and Hosea; grandchildren Amanda Breaux, Ashalyn, Seraile (Daniel) and Manuel Breaux III; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 7841 Highway 87 North in Orange.
