ORANGE — The life of Mrs. Elvina Rose Mims, 82, of Orange, will be celebrated during a Resurrection Mass Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church.

Father Anselm Eke, M.S.P., pastor, will be the Celebrant.

Rites of Christian Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum in St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m.

She died Wednesday at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital.

A native of Opelousas, LA, she resided in Orange since 1939.

A member of St. Therese Catholic Church, she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. Peter Claver and also a member of the Ladies Sodality.

She is survived by her husband, James C. Mims,  3 sons, James Patrick Mims (Brenda) , Gary L. Mims, and Minister Adrian Mims (Keitha), 3 daughters, Elizabeth C. Campbell (Linstrom), Regina Cameron (Ronald), and Belinda Green, 1 brother, Leo Jackson, 2 sisters, Mary Selma Crossley , all of Orange, and Gustavia Gardiner of Houston, TX, 22 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
