The Orange Leader
Let us lay aside every weight, and sin which does so easily beset us, a very important principle in the life of a Christian.
Do you remember watching episodes of Superman? Each of us needs to embrace the knowledge of what our kryptonite is. With all of his super powers Superman had no defense against kryptonite. Kryptonite depleted his strength, rending Superman helpless. As long as he was in the personality of Clark Kent no enemy bother to present kryptonite. It was only when he was operating under the influence of his calling, using his anointed powers that his enemy would look to put kryptonite in his presence. Although Superman had no defense against it, the best thing for him to do was to get away from it.
The bible tells us to flee from those things that could be our kryptonite. Resist the devil and he will flee from us.
What is your kryptonite? Kryptonite does not kill us. It places us in a position to where we can be destroyed. It depletes our ability to operate in the anointing.
The bible says no weapon formed against us will prosper, I believe this to be true. However when it comes to our kryptonite, the weapon has not been formed outside of us. It’s been fostered inside of us.
Every man is tempted when he is drawn away of “his own lust”, and enticed. If we know that we are weak in an area we need to stay away from that area. Sexual immorality, drugs, alcohol, and even foul language attitude can be our kryptonite. All of which we need to stay out or walk away from.
We need to be true to ourselves. Superman knew kryptonite was his weakness and he never went into a situation knowing kryptonite was present, so why should we? The enemy wants to get us in a place where we become powerless.
Don’t “give him” the opportunity by trying to handle your kryptonite. If we could handle it, it wouldn’t be kryptonite. The best way to handle kryptonite is to know the “Way” that helps us to stay away or walk away, “for in that He himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.”
The one thing we have that Superman didn’t, is the power of the “Cross.” Christ or Kryptonite, which do you embrace?
