ORANGE — The Lions Carnival has been postponed until Wednesday due to saturated festival grounds from recent rainfall.
Organizers with the Orange Lions Club Carnival met earlier today (Saturday, Oct. 5) and voted to cancel Saturday's carnival and resume operations on Wednesday, Oct. 9, as normally scheduled.
However, in an effort to accommodate fans of the carnival, the carnival committee has made a few additions to the schedule.
"We are adding a whole 'nother week to the carnival," said Chris Kovatach, carnival chairperson. "It's almost like this past week never happened. Wednesday (Oct. 9) will be like our opening day where will be accepting one canned good per person in lieu of an admission fee and next Saturday (Oct. 12) will be our Kiddie Day like today (Oct. 5) should have been."
The carnivall will now run from Wednesday, Oct. 9 through Saturday, Oct. 12, and Wednesday, Oct. 16 through Saturday, Oct. 19. The carnival is open from 6:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. each Wednesday and Thursday, and from 6:30 p.m. - 11 p.m., each Friday and Saturday, except on Kiddie Day which is when the carnival will open at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12.
