BEAUMONT — Road work is on tap late Sunday and into Monday on Interstate 10.
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced plans to continue readying the Neches River Bridge on Interstate 10 for “The Big Shift” as work crews close the westbound right lane of Interstate 10 from 9 p.m., Sunday, until 5 a.m., Monday.
Work crews will be adjusting and moving concrete barriers in preparation of the main rebuilding of the bridge, so delays could be encountered.
TxDOT will also close the eastbound left lane of Interstate 10 near Hamshire Road in Beaumont from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday, to make repairs to the cable barrier system.
All work is done weather permitting and does not reflect emergency lane closures.
TxDOT reminds motorists to plan accordingly and to be cautious while driving through work zones as workers are present.
