Tuesdays with Morrie

The Orange Community Players present “Tuesdays with Morrie” at 7:37 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, and Thursday, Feb. 20 - Saturday, Feb. 22, and a matinee at 2:37 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23. Cost is $10-$15. Call 409-882-9137 for reservations.



Gumbo and Chili Sale

St. Therese Catholic Church, 1409 Sixth St. in Orange, will hold its annual Gumbo and Chili Sale from 10:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15 in the Life Center. Coin show

The Greater Orange Coin Club Spring Show will be held from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15 and 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, at the VFW Hall, 5303 N. 16th St. in Orange. Lady Bear Link Sale

The LC-M Lady Bear Soccer Team will hold a link sale from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15 at Superior Tire, 1213 N. 16th St. in Orange. A link on bun, chips and drink will be sold for $5.



Vidor TOPS Chapter

The Vidor Chapter of TOPS meets at 7 p.m., every Monday, at First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Main in Vidor. Weigh-in is from 6 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.

Red Hot Flashers

The Red Hot Flashers of the Red Hat Society will meet at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, at Bando’s restaurant, 215 N. 11th St. in Beaumont. Members will carpool from Kroger’s on 16th Street in Orange. Meet at 11 a.m. Birthday ladies are: Queen Helene, Helen Broussard, and Lady Betty Boop, Betty Morgan. Author Meet and Greet

The second Local Author Meet & Greet Book Signing Event, “TAKE TWO,” featuring more than two dozen authors, will be held from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21, at The Community House, 304 S. Elizabeth in Kirbyville, across the street from the library.



AAUW Book drive

The Orange Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is beginning its annual drive to collect “gently used” books for their scholarship fund. All books, fiction, non-fiction, hardbound or paper back are needed. Also needed are audio and video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. These may be delivered to the Mann Insurance Agency, located at 1505 Park Ave. at 15th Street, during regular business hours. If unable to deliver your donations, you may call 409-886-5739 or 409-886-2194 to arrange for pickup.



Pool Tournament

VFW Post 8246, 2110 S. Main in Vidor, invites the public to its weekly pool tournament every Friday night. Ages 21 and older only. Call 409-768-1482 for info.

The Greater Orange Area Literacy Services (GOALS) will hold its 15th Annual Spelling Bee fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, in the Student Center of Lamar State College-Orange. Benefit for Lexy Bertrand

A benefit event will be held for Vidor teenager Lexy Bertrand, who was killed in a February automobile collision, from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at Woods Pavilion, 141 N. Main in Vidor. Plate lunches, live music, an auction, bake sale and raffle are all scheduled. All proceeds will go to family for expenses
