An autopsy is set for Saturday morning for a Vidor woman whose body was discovered by a fisherman on Pleasure Island on Friday.
Police were called to the North Levee Road at about 11:30 a.m. Dec. 7 in reference to a body floating in the water. Port Arthur Fire Department extracted the white female, later identified as Amber Nicole Guillory, 26, approximately three feet from the shore, Port Arthur Police Maj. Raymond Clark said.
The woman was wearing pajama bottoms and a black and white hoodie top and jewelry and had tattoos.
“Cause of death and duration of time in the water has not been determined,” Clark said via phone Friday afternoon.
Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.
Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam III ordered the autopsy which is set for 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.
