ORANGE — Two educators in a local school district have been suspended for inappropriate conduct.

The Vidor Independent School District has suspended two employees this week “regarding accusations of inappropriate conduct,” according to Dr. Jay Killgo, Vidor ISD superintendent.

“We have placed two of our employees on suspension with pay while we investigate this matter,” Killgo said in a telephone interview. “This is something we take very seriously.”

One of the employees was an educator at Oak Forest Elementary and the other worked at Vidor Junior High School.

Various reports and social media sites claim the employees to be husband and wife, but Killgo would not confirm nor deny the information.

“The district has a policy of not discussing personnel matters,” Killgo added. Killgo stated in a press release the appropriate information has been presented to the proper authorities, which includes Child Protective Services and the State Board of Educator Certification.

“Vidor ISD is committed to having employees that exemplify the values of our community,” he stated. “Our staff will continue to closely research this matter and make the best decision for our students in the district.”
