Bridge City’s Jacey Walker and Emily Warren advanced to the State Powerlifting Meet after tremendous performances at the Region IV Division II Regional Powerlifting Meet Wednesday.
Walker, a junior, placed third in the 114-pound class by lifting a total of 610 pounds in the three venues.
Warren, a sophomore, placed first in the 198-pound class, totaling 715 pounds. Warren also broke a regional record in the bench press with a lift of 150 pounds.
Walker and Warren will compete in the State Powerlifting Meet Mar. 15 in Corpus Christi.
In the 165 weight class BC’s Sarah Sams placed fifth, lifting a total weight of 635 pounds and freshman Carlee Dearing placed ninth with a total weight of 575 pounds.
In the 181 weight class BC’s Rikki Bodin placed fourth with a total weight of 625 pounds and Samantha Hargrave placed fifth with a total weight of 555 pounds.
For Orangefield, Katlin Gordon placed fourth in the 198-pound class. Lady Bobcat Skylar Hammons was fifth in the 148-pound class and teammate Britton Edgerly was eighth in the 114-pound division.
