ORANGE — West Orange-Stark quarterback Dillon Sterling-Cole is The Orange Leader’s Offensive Player of the Week while Little Cypress-Mauriceville linebacker Brady Lyons and defensive end Kayl Simon are the Defensive Players of the Week after excellent performances last week.

Sterling-Cole had his best perfornace to date in a Mustang uniform as he was involved in four touchdowns in a 36-10 District 21-3A victory on the road at Hamshire-Fannett.

He completed 9-of-15 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns while running for 70 yards and two more scores.

Lyons and Simon were definitely key cogs for the Bears, who after three weeks without playing a game, defeated the Livingston Lions 28-21 in their District 20-4A opener. Lyons and Simon made key stops at key moments to help preserve the LC-M win.

Players also deserving mention were LC-M running back Jalen Griffin (29 carries, 150 yards, TD); LC-M receiver Dalton Doyle (seven catches, 137 yards, two TDs); WO-S running back Chris James (12 carries, 116 yards); and Orangefield running back Carl Wiley (16 carries, 97 yards, two TDs).
