Atlanta-based hard rock and metal outfit Sevendust is returning to Beaumont for the first time in more than three years.
Sevendust will return to Southeast Texas for a concert on Feb. 16, 2013, at the Dixie Dancehall on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont for ages 18 and older. Special guests include Lacuna Coil and Avatar. Tickets are $22 in advance and go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at www.dixiedancehall.com and all Florida Tans outlets in Southeast Texas.
Sevendust, which last performed in Beaumont as part of Dog Jam ’09 at Ford Park, has spent much of the past two years touring in support of its April 2010 release, “Cold Day Memory.” The band’s most recent appearance in the region was in July at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with acts Slipnot, Slayer, Anthrax, As I Lay Dying, Motorhead and others.
The band reportedly entered the studio in September to begin work on its next album, tentatively titled “Black Out the Sun” and scheduled to be released in early 2013.
Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil will be making its first ever stop in Beaumont as the main support act for Sevendust.
The band, which features vocalists Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, is touring in support of its January 2012 release, “Dark Adrenaline,” which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart, and features the singles “Trip the Darkness” and “Fire.”
