A national metal band well known for its high energy rock shows is turning the volume down on its next tour.
The Atlanta, Ga. based metal act Sevendust is hitting the road this spring with a national tour which will find the band arriving in Southeast Texas on the eve of summer. Instead of its usual high energy, loud hard rocking performance, the band will perform an acoustic showcase.
Sevendust will perform on Thursday, June 19 at The Gig in downtown Beaumont for ages 18 and older. Tickets are $23.50 in advance and go on sale Friday, March 28 at www.thegigbeaumont.com.
The group is preparing to release an acoustic album, “Time Travelers and Bonfires,” on April 15. The new CD will feature six newly written tunes, as well as re-recorded Sevendust tracks “Denial,” “Karma,” “Trust,” “Gone,” “Crucified” and “Black,” which drops on radio this week.
This is not the first time Sevendust has explored its lighter sounding side of music, as the band released its previous acoustic album, “Southside Double-Wide,” in May 2004.
The band last performed locally on Feb. 16, 2013, at the Dixie Dancehall in Beaumont in a special mini-tour in advance of its 2013 release, “Black Out the Sun.”
