Tillis has always had a knack for songwriting and continued to make hit songs for other artists such as Randy Travis and Ricky Skaggs.
Tillis was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007, which have helped cement his place in country music history.
