Nutty Jerry’s schedules benefit concert for tornado victims

WINNIE, Texas — A special concert scheduled this summer will benefit the tornado victims of Moore, Okla.

Nutty Jerry’s Entertainment Complex announced plans on Friday for a benefit concert scheduled for Friday, June 21, featuring country music act Steel Magnolia. All tickets are just $20 but a donation of a non-perishable care package will be accepted as well. Care package donations can be six cases of bottled water, 20 canned good items, two packs of diapers or cans of baby formula.

Steel Magnolia is a country music duo comprised of Meghan Linsey and her fiancé, Joshua Scott Jones, which formed in Nashville, Tenn. in 2009. The pair won the second season of the television reality talent show, “Can You Duet?”

The duo is best known for the songs, “Keep On Lovin’ You,” which peaked at number 4 on the U.S. Country chart, “Just By Being You (Halo and Wings),” “Last Night Again” and “Bulletproof.”

Steel Magnolia released its self-titled debut album in January 2011 and climbed all the way up to number 7 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. The duo is currently said to be working on its sophomore release.
