The Orange Leader
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has a suspect in an animal cruelty case that stems from 15 dead cows found on April 15.
The case has been forwarded to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office yet the name of the suspect has not been released as the person has not been officially charged.
Deputies arrived at a residence in the 14000 block of Mansfield Ferry Road in south Vidor early April 15 morning and found 15 female cows, including some young baby calves, had been shot in the head.
The caretaker of the cows told the deputies the cattle had been shot with an unknown type weapon sometime during the night.
