The Orangefield Oil Field Centennial Celebration will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, adjacent to Orangefield High School on FM 105 in Orangefield. The Orangefield Cormier Museum will opena at 3 p.m., and the historical marker dedication is at 5 p.m. Live music from BB and Company is at 7 p.m. followed by a fireworks display at dark. Children’s activities include water slide, petting zoo, obstacle course and more. The public is invited.
Arlon Davis, author of “The Texas Man,” will hold a book signing from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at Reader’s Choice, 2407 Martin Luther King Drive in Pinehurst. The public is invited.

McDonald Memorial Baptist Church, located at the corner of South and Broad streets in West Orange, will have a Garage Sale Giveaway from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17. Everything is FREE! OC Farmers Market
The Orange County Farmers Market is back in season twice-per-week from 7 a.m. - 10 a.m., Saturday, and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., every Wednesday, in the parking lot of Big Lots on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst. Items available include green beans, sugar snap peas, yellow squash, potatoes, red onions, mustard greens, tender greens, blueberries, blueberry bushes, plants, homemade jams and jellies, local honey, fresh eggs, homemade cookies and granola, fresh bread and more.The public is welcome to attend.

The Lutcher Theater Service Guild will hold its annual membership drive at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18, on the third floor lobby of the Lutcher Theater. Refreshments will be services. At this meeting, volunteers may wear their western attire. As a non-profit organization, the public relies on volunteers to help provide support for the performances held at the theater. Dues are $10 per year and membership is open to people 18-years of age and older. Senior Citizen Passes
Dr. Stephen Patterson, Orangefield ISD superintendent, announces Senior Citizen Passes are available to those who are residents Orangefield ISD and age 60 or older. These passes entitle senior citizens to free admission to home activities and events sponsored by OISD. Visit the superintendent’s office between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Proof of age and residence is required.
CCS Lion Backers Golf Tournament
The Community Christian School Lion Backers will hold its 2nd annual Golf Tournament starting at 8 a.m., Monday, Aug. 19, at Sunset Grove Country Club, 2900 W. Sunset Drive in Orange. The monthly meeting of the Orange County Master Gardeners is held the second Thursday of the month at the Salvation Army building on the corner of MLK and Strickland in Orange.
