National Model Railroad Month
Grace Luther Church, 2300 Eddleman Road, invites the public to its Open House events from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, Nov. 23 and Nov. 30 to see mode trains, railroad layouts and an appearance by “Thomas the Train.” On Nov. 30, there will be four other railroad layouts open in the Golden Triangle for viewing as part of the Houston Railroad Tour, in Mauriceville, Bridge City, Groves and Beaumont. Directions will be available at Grace for each of these layouts. The ever popular “Lego” train layout will also be returning on Nov. 30 at the church. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 945 Roundbunch Road in Bridge City, will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar and Flea Market from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23 featuring handcrafted religious and non-religious items, plus other crafts such as Christmas wreaths, bows, decorations and floral arrangements. There will be a bake shop, toys and stocking stuffers. All proceeds go toward the music program at Good Shepherd Lutheran, which provides scholarships to Lamar University music majors.
