Holiday Craft Extravaganza

Christmas Shoppe Spectacular

First United Pentecostal Church of Orange, 3406 Edgar Brown Drive, will hold its Christmas Shoppe Spectacular Craft Show and Holiday Market from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1. There will be a gumbo dinner and silent auction, plus photos with Santa from noon - 2 p.m. Crafts and vendors featuring handmade children’s clothing, quilts, wreaths, jellies, salsas, baked goods, artwork and more. Housewarming Benefit

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Sabine Aerie 2325, 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, will hold a housewarming benefit party for Michael and Peggy Riley from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2. The Rileys home burned down and they lost everything, including family pet. A registry has been set up at Walmart and donations are appreciated. Public Education Forum

The Orange County school superindents will conduct an open meeting from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13 in the Orange Public Library meeting room. They will present possible upcoming changes in Texas public education, mainly pertaining to testing and school finance. This is an important meeting to inform the public regarding possible changes to how public schools in Texas will conduct business for years to come. Heroines of Jericho

BCISD to purge records

Bridge City ISD special education records will be purged on Dec. 31, 2012, for students whose special education services ceased prior to August 2005. Any previous special education student, who is at least 18 years old, or the parent or guardian of a minor student, may pick up records in the Special Education Office.
