OC Farmers Market
The Orange County Farmers Market is open twice a week through November from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m., Saturdays, and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., Wednesdays, in the parking lot of Big Lots on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst. Items available include fresh seasonal produce, jams and jellies, pickles, and fresh eggs, as well as a large variety of yard plants and house plants, homemade baked goods and homemade granola. Community Needs Grants
The Service League of Orange is currently accepting applications for its Community Needs Committee to encourage projects and events which promote and benefit the entire Orange County area. Verification of a non-profit 501-c3 status must accompany the Community Needs application. Hunter Education Safety Class
Texas Parks and Wildlife hunter Education Safety Class Field part will be taught from 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, Class is not just for hunters, but anyone who handles a firearm. Hunter Education Safety Class
Vidor ISD Community Education will hold a Hunter Safety class to keep young hunters safe this season from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept. 24 in the Vidor Middle School cafeteria for ages nine and older. Ages 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent. The parent may enroll and take the class if desired, but it is not necessary. The class cost is $15 and must be paid in cash. Patrons can register at Vidor ISD administration or on the evening of the class. Pre-registration is urged in order for the teacher to provide enough materials.
Holiday in the Park booth registration
The City of West Orange is accepting booth registration for Holiday in the Park scheduled for Sat. Nov. 2, 2013. Deadline to confirm a booth space is Fri., Oct. 11, 2013. Applications for registration and a site map are on the city’s website at www.cityofwestorange.com

Peel Out Car Club
The Orange Peel Out Car Club will have its 5th annual Open Car Show from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at Granger Chevrolet, 2611 MacArthur Drive in Orange. Entry fee is $20 in advance and $25 day of show. Entrants receive a free T-shirt and dash plaque. This is an open show and vehicles need not be classic or antique to enter. Trophies awarded. Ford Motor Company and David Self Ford invite the public to “Drive 4 UR School” from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28 at David Self Ford, Green Avenue and MacArthur Drive in Orange. Each test drive earns $20 for the designated school. Program benefits West Orange-Stark, LC-M, Bridge City, Orangefield, Community Christian, Vidor and Deweyville. LCHS Multi-Class Reunion
The Little Cypress High School graduating classes of 1953 through 1970 have scheduled a reunion on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.
