Emma Moore

On the night of April 30th, Two Thousand Seventeen, a rare and precious jewel cease to exist on earth. She was chosen by a rare jewel collector who, many years ago, paid the sacrificial price to claim her as His, so on Sunday night, He called for His jewel to come home. To come join Him where there are many mansions and streets of gold, where all her problems and pain will be no more; a very befitting place made for a Rare and Precious Jewel.

Mother Emma Moore

August 18, 1930 – April 30, 2017

Evg. Mother Emma Moore entered this earthly life in Longleaf, LA, August 18, 1930 to Beatrice Triplett, who preceded her in death. She was the eldest of three siblings, Roland Johnson, Monroe Simon, Jr., and Rose Green, all of whom preceded her in death. Raised as brothers and sister with Mother Moore were cousins Catherine Simon, James “Bubba” Howard and Roy Howard, who’ve all also preceded her in death. Mother Moore had many achievements in her life that included teaching, a business owner, property investments, lead custodial position with WOCCISD and many more, but none made her more proud that being a Mother. She enjoyed being a mother to her family but especially “Mother Moore” to her church family. When she committed her life to God over 45 years ago, she never looked back. She lived what she preached, and preached what she lived! She has been a true Woman of God, one that wasn’t afraid to expound the gospel of Christ, leading many souls to give their lives to the Master. She fought on the battle field and when needed, she worked in the kitchen, selling pies and dinners to raise funds to help meet goals for the church or help the helping hand ministry meet the need of the community. Through it all, she never neglected her family. She worked just as hard to make sure her children had all they needed. She knew the importance of being a “Living Example” of God’s word, she would say, “you can’t just talk this life, you have to live this life, Hallelujah!” This Rare Precious Jewel leaves the following to cherish her memories: daughters Erma (Henry) Lowe, Ruby Thibodeaux, Bonnie (George) Finney, Claudia (Jerald) Finney and Mary King; Sons Kenneth (Betty) Thomas and George Thomas. Her husband Samuel Moore preceded her in death as well as sons Frank Branch and Tommy Branch. Mother Moore also has 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 35 great great grandchildren and a host of relatives, friends and church family who will forever cherish her memories. On Friday, May 5, 2017 there was a wake from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 612  N. 3rd St., Orange, Texas.

On Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Orange there is a visitation at 10:00 a.m. until the home-going service at 11:00 a.m. in Orange. Until the Trumpet Sounds…Mother Moore will take her earthly rest at Magnolia Memorial Cemetery in Orange under the professional care and direction of Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel of Beaumont, TX
