Jack Lilburn Whitworth

Jack Lilburn Whitworth, 83, passed away on February 16, 2017 in Hollywood, Florida.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, on December 11, 1933, Jack was the son of James Arthur and Susie Whitworth. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Whitworth and Jeryl Whitworth.

Jack attended Arlington Heights High School where he was crowned “Howdy King” as the most friendly student. He played college basketball at Texas Wesleyan University.

Jack served his country in the Korean War. He retired from a career in banking and finance. Jack loved his family and was a caring father and grandfather who blessed his children with a wonderful childhood. He will be dearly missed.

Jack is survived by his son, Gary Whitworth of Davidson, North Carolina, daughter Kim Davis and husband Tommy of Davie, Florida; and grandchildren, Alexander Whitworth, Christopher Whitworth, Kaleigh Davis, Brittany Davis and Kelsey Davis.

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 24th, 2017 at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
