BRIDGE CITY — The Historical Museum of Bridge City came alive July 12 as locals and visitors to the town gathered for the much-anticipated “Night at the Museum & Visitor Center” event. Held at the museum located on West Roundbunch Road, the evening was a celebration of community, history, and local culture drawing in residents and visitors of all ages.
Attendees were treated to free museum tours, allowing them to explore the rich history of Bridge City. The museum, known for its extensive collection of artifacts and exhibits that showcase the town’s heritage, provided a perfect backdrop for the evening’s festivities.

Adding to the atmosphere, Miss B’s Take Out catered the event with an array of delicious finger foods. Guests enjoyed a variety of tasty bites while mingling and sharing stories about their own connections to Bridge City.
A highlight of the evening was a book signing by local author Charlotte Schexnider-Chiasson, who has dedicated over two decades to compiling a comprehensive history of Bridge City. Charlotte began her journey in 1998, motivated by the realization that no one had ever documented the town’s history in such a manner. Over the years, she interviewed 100 families and longtime residents, gathering invaluable stories and insights that paint a vivid picture of the community’s past.
“I wanted to ensure that the voices of our history were not lost,” Charlotte shared during the event. “Each family has a unique story that contributes to the fabric of Bridge City, and I felt it was important to preserve that for future generations.”
