Hotel Occupancy Tax grant applications due soon

The deadline to apply for Orange County Hotel Occupancy Tax grants is coming up next week. Applications are due to the Orange County Economic Development Corporation by Aug. 31.
The grants provide funding for projects that encourage tourism and overnight visitors to Orange County in several categories.
Eligible projects include:
- Convention and visitor information centers
- Advertising and promotions that directly promote tourism and the hotel/convention industry
- Promotions of the arts
- Historical restoration and preservation activitiesÂ
- Sporting event expenses that increase economic activity at hotels
- Shuttle services for convention activities
Organizations applying for funding must also be a 501(C) registered in Orange County.
