UPDATE: Fatal pedestrian-train crash in Vidor, autopsy ordered

VIDOR — A person walking along the railroad tracks in Vidor at FM 1132 and East Railroad Street was struck and killed by a train Monday afternoon, according to the Vidor Police Department.
Police are investigating the death, noting the dispatch center received a call about the collision at 1:19 p.m.
Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll said responding officers found a person deceased. Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner was called to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. He ordered an autopsy.
The identity of the individual is not confirmed as of Monday afternoon and the investigation is ongoing, Carroll said.
