Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Hello beautiful people. My run to the grocery store usually leads to me conversing with a reader. I definitely enjoy a short, safely distanced conversation with you all. Thank you for reading and giving your feedback on this column. It seems like article number one just happened, and here I am writing article thirty.

This week I have a really neat project sent in by a local reader. It is something I haven’t seen and would have never done. I do not have stairs in my home, so for those of you who do pay close attention. On a side note, my thirteen-year old would love it if we had stairs, but she is out of luck. Many homes with stairs have carpet on them. The staircase pictured is in a home in old Orange, close to my home.

Heather Dyson of Orange shared this project and I love how it turned out. She decided she wanted to add a little pop to her stairway. She sent me a photo of these decals that looked like tile. It turns out they are vinyl and easy to install.  You can find them on Amazon. You could match them perfectly so every step has the same pattern, or you could install them randomly. I love the unmatched look. This is a unique way to add character to your home. It makes a great conversation piece as well.

There are so many ways to spice up even the smallest spaces in your home and make them appear grand. I always say don’t be afraid to try something. If you hate it, you can always remove it or paint over it. Most of the time you just don’t know if you love it, until it is actually installed. I want to thank Heather for sharing this project for all to see. If you have any questions about where to find the decals, please email me at orangeyoubold@gmail.com. I will get the correct link to you. I think you can use these in other places. The inside of a drawer may be a fun place to install these to protect the inside. You may have a bookshelf that needs a little pop of color. You could line the inside of a bookshelf with these.

If you decide to give this a shot, follow up with me by email. I would love to see what creative use you find for these beautiful decals. Keep trying out bold ideas. Be bold and confident in your choices.
