Willetta (Shakesnider) Washington, Orange native and 1943 graduate of Emma H..Wallace High School passed on 06/27/20 in Carson, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Washington, parents, Johnnie Welcome & Wilmer Shakesnider; grandparents, Mattie & John Hubert; aunt, Veoletta Davis;  nephew, Charles Shakesnider; and first husband, Russell Rylander. She leaves to cherish her memories her niece, Jo Helen (Jack) Williams of Dayton,Ohio;niece in law, Dianne Shakesnider of Houston, Texas; and brother in law, James Washington of Port Arthur, Texas.

Throughout her 60+years of living in California she established an extended family with the entire McGee, Haines & O’Bannon families.  She was loved & cherished by all who knew her throughout her working career at LAUSD and her church family at Grant AME in Los Angeles, California.

The gates of Heaven have opened for her and may she forever rest in peace.
