PRESS RELEASE — The City of Orange reports a City employee has tested positive for COVID‐19. The employee learned the results over the holiday weekend and then immediately contacted the City. The employee had already been off from work for a couple of days prior to the long weekend due to previously scheduled time off. The employee’s job requirements involve no direct contact with the public and only minimal contact with co‐workers. The City of Orange is taking precautions to minimize exposure to the virus to include cleaning of the employee’s work area and monitoring all City employees for symptoms of COVID‐19.

The City of Orange is also taking steps to comply with Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA‐29 which requires Texans to wear face masks in public places. The City will restrict the public’s access to City buildings to promote social distancing and minimize face‐to‐face interactions.
