Hello beautiful people. This week I have a reader submission in the photos that I cannot get enough of. Holly Bush from Bridge, Texas sent in photographs of a dresser that she refinished for her daughter’s room. I love that this piece was in her family and gained new life with a little elbow grease. It’s a piece that will be enjoyed for many years to come. Check out her refinished dresser in the photo section. Thank you, Holly for sharing your photos with us.

Last week I shared a photograph of a headboard I built for my bedroom.  It started out one way and ended up completely different. I debated on whether or not I wanted to stain the piece because I was loving the natural wood color. I decided to stain it lightly. I am a huge fan of dark stain, so trust me when I say try something you normally would not try. I absolutely love the golden color stain on this piece.

The items you will need to complete a piece like this can be found at your local hardware store. To complete the headboard, I used 1x4x8 unfinished pine to frame around the headboard. This will give it a more finished look. Then I applied wood stain. I also purchased wall sconce lights to attach to the board. I looked for battery operated, ones but I was not able to find any that would work. I simply tucked the wiring inside and attached the lights to the headboard. I remove the dome light cover from inside and attached battery operated puc lights inside. You can find them in the bulb section of your hardware store.
