Around midday, the National Hurricane Center upgraded Tropical Depression 3 to Tropical Storm Cristobal.   Cristobal is located along the coast of Mexico just west of the Yucatan peninsula.

No significant changes from the earlier email.  Cristobal is forecasted to weaken to a tropical depression over the next day or two and then re-emerge as a tropical storm over the southwest Gulf late in the week.  While the current forecast is for a northward movement this weekend as a tropical storm, there is still considerable uncertainty with Cristobal’s forecasted track and intensity.
Regardless of what happens with Cristobal, we are expecting high rain chances this weekend and early next week. Locally heavy rain may occur with significant amounts possible.  Higher than normal tides are expected as well.
