PRESS RELEASE — Hope everyone had a good week. Not too bad around here.

Received a call Monday evening about a man getting shot. Everyone headed that way. We were told a man from Arkansas was shot two times. It was said he got in his dually and went back to Arkansas before we got there. They said he had warrants from Arkansas, but I believe he didn’t like our hospitality. Also, he heard we feed T.V. dinners in our jail.

We had another shooting in the Gist area. Victim went to hospital in Jasper. Victim would not tell Jasper officers anything about who, what or where it took place. Our deputy went to hospital and the same thing. No who, what, or where. A couple days later victim decided he needed to talk to us. Shooting under investigation. Victim stated he had been drinking all night and taking pills.

Two kinds of calls we get several of every week. They are dog problems and custody of children. This last week we got a bunch of each.

Lady called 911 and said she was told her sons house caught on fire and he was in it. During the fire, the girlfriend took his truck and the truck was found at the bottom of a swamp. Wow sounded terrible. We spent a lot of time on this call to no avail. We couldn’t find anything on this call. Anyone knows anything about this give us a call.
