PRESS RELEASE — What a week. The tornado kept us hopping for a day or two. Thank the dear Lord nobody in the county got hurt. Please remember the Jones family and the Brown family for the damage their homes received.

Repo man went to repo a car in the Deweyville area. He was jumped on by several males. Repo man’s body cam was rolling. Warrants are being issued. Repo man banged up but ok.

What is it about ATV’s driving crazy and being stupid? ATV’s are more dangerous in Newton County than Coronavirus.

I have never seen so many calls about family’s not getting along. Parents feuding with kids. Husbands against wives. Girlfriends against boyfriends. We gotta get this coronavirus problem fixed. If it goes on much longer, we are going to have to hire more officers.

I would like to thank all the citizens who stepped up to the plate helping neighbors. Everywhere I went the morning after the tornado hit, neighbors were helping neighbors. Wow! So impressive!

Gotta go, two mental calls holding. Thought for the week: Learn from yesterday, live for today, and have hope for tomorrow. Ya’ll have a good week and if we can help, just holler. God Bless.
