As Texas retailers are slowly reopening as Retail to Go, Texas Health and Human Services issued guidelines for safely making purchases.

The department also payments should be done over the phone or online when possible. If those options are not available, contact should be minimized if remote payment is not available.

Employees should deliver the purchases to the backseat or trunk of the customer to minimize physical contact. Employees must to wash or sanitize their hands after each customer as well as disinfect anything the customer may have come into contact with.

If the purchase is delivery to the customer’s doorstep, the employee or the third party carrier should leave the package on the doorstep and not enter the customers house or business.

  • be trained in how to properly wash their hands, respiratory etiquette, environmental cleaning and disinfection
