BEAUMONT, Texas – The following information from the Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center summarizes activities and developments related to COVID-19 in Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange, and Tyler counties:

               The Texas Justice Court Training Center is advising Justices of the Peace to report “suspected coronavirus death” on death certificates when the patient was suspected to have the virus before death.  However, the EOC will not report COVID-19 deaths unless they have been validated through Public Health Authorities.

Total calls received by Call Center – 3,063

  • 128 calls received today
  • 1,188 patients have been tested at the two test sites

Call volume has gone down considerably.  Citizens are encouraged to call 409-550-2536 to be evaluated for testing.  The Call Center is open 24-hours, seven days a week.
