BRIDGE CITY – Thursday completed phase one for Bridge City ISD of sending out devices for their students to use during their flexible learning at home.

If you want to thank some serious heroes, the employees deserve it all!!

The technology department has been working 16 hours days every day to get the district through this transition.

They have spent the last two days distributing nearly 500 chromebooks and 200 hotspots. This process involved placing an emergency order for the hotspots, unwiring chromebooks and chargers from carts on campuses, collecting responses from teachers on device needs for their students, updating device settings in our admin console, assigning devices to individual students, and packaging each of these devices with instructions.

It could not have accomplished any of this transition without this team. The best part of it all is, they didn’t complain about working long hours, or doing extra work, or completely changing how pretty much everything is done within the district.

District Technology Director, Natasha Ray, said “I know we’ll make it through this with all kinds of new knowledge and be able to use that to further instructional technology in the district. So it’s definitely an exciting time for BCISD Tech, although I sure wish the circumstances were different.” So much chaos around us, and yet leaders are still looking at how to make this into something positive for our district! That’s an amazing leader, with an incredible group working alongside her. We cannot express enough thanks to our entire technology department and all of their efforts to continue the education of our students!
