Students, Parents, and Community,

In order to comply with the anticipated updated order by Orange County Judge Gothia, Bridge City ISD schools will extend the closure until Friday, April 10, 2020. Our school district will continue to implement our Flexible Education Plan, distribute devices, prepare/distribute work packets, and feed our children according to our plan. We will continue to work with Orange County Judge Gothia to weekly assess the coronavirus crisis, and I will continue to update you as necessary.

Bridge City ISD implemented the Flexible Education Program as of today. I urge you to remain in contact with your child’s teacher to ensure the education program is being implemented. Our staff has worked extremely hard through Spring Break to be able to reduce the amount of time before we could begin this new initiative due to the Coronavirus crisis. Thank you to the parents who answered the calls from our staff regarding the availability of devices and internet connectivity.

We are in the process of beginning Phase 1 of our distribution plan for our students. Our teachers are interested in assisting students to be successful during this time. We will begin Phase 2 of our distribution plan as soon as we have a good understanding of the number of students needing devices as we continue to reach out to homes to establish the need. Please contact your child’s Campus Principal if you have a need for a device.

We will continue to work to assist our students and staff within a reasonable manner during this health crisis. There will be over 3,000 students and staff using devices to provide instructional programs and/or apps for education. Please understand we will get through this by using patience, perseverance and communication between our families and staff.

Reminder: Friday, April 10, 2020 Good Friday – School Holiday
Monday, April 13, 2020 Easter Monday – School Holiday

Stay safe and healthy,
Todd Lintzen, Superintendent
