Bears zap Warren at Certa-Bearden tourney

WEST ORANGE – The LC-M Battlin’ Bears defeated Warren 17-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout at the Certa-Bearden Tournament.

Christopher Greer struck out Sharp to finish off the game.

The Bears secured the victory thanks to 16 runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by was led by Ty Moreland, Anthony Bandiero, Hunter Perkins, Zach Krummel, Austin Smith, and Moreland, all driving in runs in the frame.

In the first inning, the offense got started. Krummel drew a walk, scoring one run.

Reid Peco earned the win for the Bears. He lasted three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Greer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

The Bears tallied ten hits in the game. Dean Reynolds and Zach McNeil all managed multiple hits for the Bears.
