Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers, with the assistance of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Alisha Lowe and Johnathan Segeada after they fled from law enforcement in Jasper County.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a DPS Trooper working routine patrol on US 96 in Kirbyville observed a Mazda passenger vehicle traveling southbound on US 96 without a front license plate.

The Trooper activated emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver of the vehicle did not stop. The driver continued southbound on US 96 into Buna and turned onto State Hwy. 62.

The driver continued to flee from law enforcement and traveled into Orange County.

The driver attempted to pull into a convenience store parking lot on State Hwy. 62, near Interstate 10, but lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a metal pole.

The driver, Alisha Faye Lowe, 35, of Kountze, was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Orange County jail without further incident.

Lowe was charged with felony evading arrest. The front passenger, Johnathan Segeada, 26, of Lumberton, was taken into custody for an outstanding felony warrant from Hardin County.

Due to his alleged injuries, Segeada was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital for treatment.

A second passenger in the vehicle was released without charges.

This is an ongoing investigation.
