CAMERON – Jaxon Bernard had a walkoff RBI single as the Bridge City Cardinals downed New Waverly 4-3 at the Cameron Yoe Tournament Friday afternoon.

Sam Carpenter went the distance on the mound for the Cardinals (9-0-1) and scattered four hits while striking out six.

Carpenter also had a pair of Bridge City’s five hits in the game. Tanner Wilson and Payton Havard each had runs batted in.
