Bobcats batter Groesbeck at West tourney

WEST – Orangefield’s Kadeon Evans was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound on Thursday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Bobcats past Groesbeck 20-0 in the West Tournament.

 

Ryan Trahan led Bobcats to victory by driving in four runs.  He went 2-for-4 at the plate.  Trahan drove in runs on a triple in the first and a single in the fifth.

 

In the first inning, Bobcats got their offense started when Logan Gipson was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

 

Bobcats put up 11 runs in the fifth inning.  Kent Michael, Evans, Gunner Jones, Kameryn Henderson, Trahan, and  Conner Tait each had RBIs in the big inning.

 

Evans earned the victory on the hill for Bobcats. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over five innings, striking out ten.

 

Ferguson took the loss for Groesbeck. He surrendered nine runs on nine hits over four innings.

 

Bobcats scattered 15 hits in the game.  Tyler Washington, Trahan, Tyler Shearin, Evans, and Gipson each managed multiple hits for Bobcats.  Washington led Bobcats with three hits in four at bats.

 

Bobcats move to 4-1 and will play Sunnyvale (#10 in 4A)and Robinson (#4 in 4A) Friday.
