WEST ORANGE – The LC-M utilized big hits to tally 11 runs in the third inning as they went on to down the Buna Cougars 17-6 at the Certa-Bearden Tournament at WO-S High School Friday.

The Bears piled up 13 hits in the win while Buna had five.

In the big-run third inning, Dean Reynolds, Brett Burrows, Ashton Landry, Ty Moreland, Zach Krummel and Austin Smith had runs batted in.

Smith led the hit parade in the contest, collecting three hits.

Hunter Perkins got the win on the mound, going two innings and allowing one hit while striking out two. Gage Griffith tossed three innings out of the bullpen.

The Cougars scored all six of their runs in the fifth inning.
