Michael Cole

I am easily distracted.

Its been a curse since I was a young man. I will start a task and then suddenly see something that I also want to work on.

I am currently reading seven different books; I have three television shows that I am streaming that I have not yet finished. I have different art projects that I am working on.

I have been building a website for my writing but have yet to finish it.

All because I am easily distracted.

Where was I? Sorry, I had to stop and listen to a new album, Music to be Murdered By, but I am back now.

My wife tells me that I could conquer the world if I could ever stay on task.

If only.

It is a curse that plagues me and will forever do so.

I have tried medications, but I got sidetracked and forgot to take them.

But then again, I am happy with being easily distracted.

Did you ever stop and think about all the wonderful things in the world? The people you miss out on talking to? The things you pass up on looking at?

The world is an amazing place.

Does is matter if I get a little sidetracked on things?

Does it matter that a book might take a little longer to read or write because I want to do all the things?

Will my life be any better tomorrow because today I decided to live my life to its fullest?

I do not think so, there may be times that I have to race a deadline because I get a bit distracted.

I see so many people in the world on a Highway to Hell because they think that laser concentration is the way to go. Yeah, there are times that you want to stay on task till it is over.

But, in this high-tech world where there is so much information out there to take in, I do not think of my ADHD as a disability, but a strength.

So, those of you that are easily distracted, take umbrage in one simple fact that you live life at warp drive.

So, take your time, enjoy the sights, listen to music when it strikes your fancy and…

Oh, look, a kitty!
