At approximately 9:15 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on State Hwy. 62 in Orange County.  The crash occurred approximately one mile North of Farm to Market Road 2802 and involved a commercial motor vehicle.

The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that a commercial motor vehicle hauling timber was traveling southbound on State Hwy. 62.  A 2003 Ford passenger vehicle was traveling on Wade Road approaching State Hwy. 62.  The driver of the Ford failed to yield the right of way and turned into the path of the log truck.  The log truck struck the rear portion of the Ford and continued off the road.  The log truck struck several trees before coming to rest in the woods.

The driver of the log truck, 42-year-old Raymond Marsh of Nacogdoches, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Chad Jenkins at the scene.

The driver of the Ford passenger vehicle, a 46-year-old female from Orange, was not injured in the crash.

All northbound and southbound traffic lanes of State Hwy. 62 in Orange County have reopened by 3:49 p.m. on Thursday.
