PRESS RELEASE — This week is telecommunicators week. Please remember to hug and thank your 911 operators. We can’t function without them. They are the real heroes in our world.

Please remember our K-9 Bruce’s Fish Fry is Wednesday the 17th. Commissioner Formby will be cooking. Come to the square here in Newton for some good catfish. Bruce is doing good so come support him.

We are having a 3-man scramble Friday, April 19th at 1:00 p.m. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Newton Eagle Athletic Booster Club. This is Coach W.T. Johnston and my second tournament. It will be at Sam Rayburn Golf Course. Cost is $300.00 per team. Just show up.

We received a call from Vidor Police Department wanting us to locate someone involved in a shooting in Vidor. We spent sometime looking for him but couldn’t locate him. About the time we found out where he was, Vidor contacted us to disregard.

Received a call from a lady who couldn’t get out of her residence because a possum was on the front porch. It was taken care of without her getting hurt.

We received a 911 call where a man said his neighbors hog keeps tearing up his yard. Please keep your hog in a pen.

We had nine family violence calls, seven dog complaints. And eight loose livestock calls. Wow! Several hours of time spend on these 24 calls.

Gotta go. Thought for the week: If you think getting up early for Easter sunrise service is hard, try rising from the dead. Happy Easter. Ya’ll have a good week and if we can help, Just holler. God Bless.
